The Heart of Our Craft
The story of Koffee with a Kay is simple, yet it carries deep meaning. My name is Daniel, and I helped my wife, Kanitta, start her business from a place of great love. So much so that love is even in the name.
The origin of the name is straightforward: I’ve called my wife Kay for as long as I can remember, so I named the business after her—Koffee with a “Kay.” We run this business together, 50/50. We pour our hearts into it; I created all the recipes from scratch, and they are all handcrafted by me. She makes the matchas, and I craft the coffees and dirty sodas.
All proceeds from this business go toward supporting our family and our son, John. It’s a real mom-and-pop venture with a true family story behind it. We first felt inspired at a church gathering one evening when a member was making coffee with her Breville. After the Bible study, we bought our own equipment and began experimenting with recipes.
My wife’s dedication was extraordinary. Even at 3 a.m., after I finally put our six-month-old son back to sleep, I would wake her to try my latest recipes, and she never complained. You can imagine how much coffee she drank during those late-night sessions.
About a week later, I formed our LLC and started the process of ordering our trailer. It took about six months, and when the trailer finally arrived, that’s when it truly felt real. I handled all the licensing and permits, and we went to work! We grind daily to keep this business alive and thriving, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. You, our customers, are part of that grind, and we thank you daily for supporting our family.
We truly mean it when we say, “We look forward to serving you.” We hope to continue providing you with a quality cup each day. Thank you from Koffee with a Kay.
